Gearing down from Bikinis

We are cleaning sand from cameras today from a windy Workshop at the Beach. Attached is a photo of Model/ Makeup Artist and Freelance Photographer Heather Alcala. She was a trooper and did some action photos at the beach. It worked out well.

We had a great bikini beach fashion shoot with 9 models, one makeup artist, and 18 photographers. Special thanks to David Kirkland for doing an awesome job with the Speed Light Presentation. It was something everyone can't stop talking about. There are some cool photos of this being posted on our Facebook group "Texas Photo Shoot Workshops".

Gearing up for the Summer 2012

Model Hope
After a long year of some wonderful workshops in unique locations from Sunset to Sunrise.  We have met some amazing photographers and models that have grown on their own and ventured to new places.  One model that will be missed is Model Taylor Thomas.  Taylor is one of the best pinup models we have ever had the pleasure to work with.  She can pose, pop those facial expressions and she brings her own wardrobe to everythings.  We first meet her two years ago at the SOS.  She was the first model to arrive and the last model to leave.  She hired her own makeup artist from Dallas and she made an impression not only on us on all of Houston's Photographers.  She can be studied by her photos and style of expressions for years to come.

Model Taylor Thomas
She is in CO now and having a new adventure of her own.  We hope she comes back to visit us again and to model.  We have seen models come and go and the most time they really last in the modeling world is 6 months.  If they last that long they worked harder than most to make it really work.  We know a few that have ventured in many fields and grow from model right out of high school to model of multiple talents.

Speaking of Talented Models; That call out goes to Model Heather Alcala.  She is also a new photographer, unique makeup artist and hair designes - owner of  "HA" and owner of "Lady Peace".  This is very unique and we feel she has great plans for the future.  Not only is she one of Houston Top A lister models you will find her at most clubs on weekends spitting out hair and makeup for models for the runway.  Heather  is located in South Houston but travels to help meet the needs of many photographers and designers from Wolfon Wear Designs to posing for ads like our upcoming SOS workshop this June.  This is our largest workshop of the year.  We have an average of 100 people come from all over the US to attend.  Models are free to signup and try their hand at modeling swimsuit or beach fashions alike.  We have a planned photo shoot for those that come in town with a mermaid shoot on Saturday morning and a long Sunset on Saturday night and we wrap it up at 5am on Sunday with a Fabulous Sunrise shoot that many come to capture.  We have some A Lister models along side of new swimsuit models that are just trying to get their foot in the door.  We work with models that we feel suit that theme along with models that could help other portfolios grown stronger.
Model Heather Alcala

This weekend we have our Fun Beach Bikini Fashion workshop with a hand full of models and photographers shooting a sunrise.  We have it in a unique location with palm trees and sand dunes and work with many on capturing some unique beach photos for their portfolios.  The photo in the AD below is Model Lauren Westlund and she did this pose last year at our first BBF workshop.  For those that want to know more about our workshops coming up, please see www.thephotobinder.com for more information.  We have some new Kids workshops about to post this week.
